Church of St. Augustine

It belongs to the Augustinian order, which settled within the walls of Monte San Giusto between 1250 and 1272. The convent immediately acquired great renown among the people and municipal authorities, in part for having briefly hosted Saint Nicholas of Tolentino. Thanks to donations from private individuals and the community, the church and convent were expanded several times over the centuries. The last intervention, which gave it its current late Baroque appearance, dates back to 1760. Since 1992, the church has been closed for worship and has become a space for concerts and conferences. Inside are a fresco with a Crucifix (16th century) and a late 18th-century canvas depicting the Virgin and saints of the Augustinian order.
