Monument to the Fallen by Carlo Cantalamessa

The sculptor Carlo Cantalamessa, originally from the Marche region and a member of a renowned family of artists, spent long periods of his life in Monte San Giusto, where he is buried today. In 1955, commissioned by the Municipal Administration, he created a monument to the fallen of all wars. It features three bronze panels, mounted on travertine steles, telling the story of a soldier who leaves his home and loved ones to fight and defend his country, even to the ultimate sacrifice of his life.
